Every product at Crochet by Kat is made in the presence of a domestic medium hair cat named Penny.
Here at Crochet by Kat, I take the following precautions to mitigate the risk of customers having an allergic reaction:
I always wash my hands before starting to crochet.
I change my clothes frequently, especially if I notice Penny's fur all over me. (I'm allergic too!)
I regularly dust, disinfect, and lint-roll my working station.
I store my yarn and WIPs (works-in-progress) away from Penny.
After I complete a project, I handpick every piece of cat hair I find. Of course, this is neither foolproof nor a guarantee that there will be absolutely no cat hair or pet dander.
I machine wash all completed crochet items with hypoallergenic laundry detergent.
Many products at Crochet by Kat are made partially or entirely with natural fibers that are common irritants for people: angora, wool, alpaca, and cashmere. Acrylic yarn, while synthetic, is hypoallergenic and is used often to mitigate the risk of an allergic reaction to the crochet.
Crochet by Kat is not responsible for any allergic reactions, subsequent medical issues, and/or medical costs caused by or related to a product or products from Crochet by Kat. By purchasing a product from Crochet by Kat, you, the customer, are accepting the risks of an allergic reaction and any subsequent medical issues and/or medical costs should that outcome occur, God forbid.
